Hubballi: Gokul Road Police Nab Interstate Thief, Recover Stolen Rs. 9.5 Lakh Gold
Hubballi: The Gokul Road police arrested a woman on Friday for stealing gold ornaments from a passenger at the bus stand. The suspect, who is believed to be part of an interstate gang, lifted 139 grams of gold ornaments worth Rs 9.5 lakh from Mrs. Angadi, a resident of Shreya Nagar, while she was boarding a bus at Gokul Road bus stand on April 5.
The theft occurred when the woman surreptitiously opened the zip of Mrs. Angadi’s vanity bag. Upon discovering the missing jewels, Mrs. Angadi promptly approached the police and filed a First Information Report (FIR).
A police team led by Inspector Praveen Neelammanavar swiftly apprehended Sandhya, the accused and recovered the stolen gold ornaments. Police Commissioner Renuka Sukumar commended the team for their swift action in resolving the case. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Rajeev and Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Shivaprakash Naik also congratulated the Gokul Road police for their exemplary work.
